New Buffalo uses five colors in broad stripes to create an airy, light weight wrap.

Worked in Stockinette stitch, the construction is simple: beginning at one tip, the increase section is worked first, then the decrease section is worked to the other tip.

We've chosen bold colors with high contrast: Fawn, Chicory, Ironweed, Trillium and Angelica. A range of our greys or browns would be equally lovely.

The instructions are written.

Skill level: Advanced Beginner.

Size: wingspan is approx. 69" and center depth is approx. 23", after blocking.

You will need:

  • One skein each of Liverpool Fingering in five colors. Sample shown in Fawn, Chicory, Ironweed, Trillium and Angelica.
  • US size 4 (3.5 mm) 24" circular needle. Shawl is worked flat; the circular needle accommodates the large number of stitches.
  • Blocking wires (optional but recommended for a smoother edge)
  • Yarn needle
