Based on traditional Shetland Hap shawls, the Swatara Shawl is worked in garter stitch from the point of the triangle out. The two-color Ripple Edging is picked up and worked last.

The sample shown is worked in Gossamer (cream) and Fawn (grey).

The instructions for the edging are both written and charted, and the finished wingspan is approximately 55" and the finished back length is approximately 23".

A US size 5 (3.75mm) 32" circular needle and two removable stitch markers are the tools you will need for this shawl.

Yarn: Liverpool Fingering

Gauge: 18 sts and 44 rows = 4" in garter stitch

Yardage: 180 yds/50g: 2 skeins Color A and 1 skein Color B

Needle: 32" circular US size 5 (3.75mm)
